We pay tribute to the leadership of the United Farm Workers and the Agricultural workers Association (AWA)\, and celebrate the legacy of early labor leaders César Chávez\, Dolores Huerta\, Larry Itliong\, Phillip Vera Cruz\, Gilbert Padilla\, and Mack Lyons. \nThis ticketed event will feature delicious food\, specialty cocktails and beverages\, and festive live music. All proceeds from this event support our food justice mission in Southeastern San Diego. Join us in celebrating the legacy of activism for farm worker’s rights as we stand in solidarity for an equitable local food system. \nThis event is intended for adults 21+\, all children must be closely supervised by a parent or guardian.

Hope Community Garden\, then guests can either walk or ride on our provided shuttle to the new garden space where we’ll have an ancestral acknowledgement\, some wellness and hands-on activities\, plus snacks and refreshments. Then we’ll journey back to the Mt. Hope Community Garden where Tree San Diego will be distributing 100 FREE TREES to community members! Let’s celebrate the solstice and commemorate this momentous occasion together at our new community growing space!
